Our Story

Kruidberg is a private family investment company dedicated to capital growth and preservation. We operate with a generational time horizon, focusing on opportunities across global capital markets, private equity and real estate.

We take our name from Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg, the largest former private residence in the Netherlands, set in the beautiful landscape of the Hollandse Duinen – the Dutch sand dunes - on the country’s west coast.

This magnificent residence stands as a reminder of the economic progress achieved by the Dutch in the 17th century. The grain and spice trades were both made possible through their maritime expertise and the creation of “the fluyt” – a revolutionary cargo ship.

They were also pioneers in banking, with Amsterdam becoming the financial capital of the world and the location of the first ever formal stock exchange.

James and Sarah Dand lived in The Netherlands for over a decade and during that time they chose Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg as the venue for their marriage. They would later go on to found Kruidberg.

Today, Kruidberg continues to be inspired by the innovators, entrepreneurs and artists of the Dutch Golden Age.
